Misinformation is information represented as true and real, though really it isn't.

It may be funny, like a joke, or something that looks worrying, or looks like 'special' information that other people don't know.

The person making the misinformation wants to make it look interesting so you will click on it, so they can get more clicks and likes.

It may seem funny, but believing in things that are not true is no joke.

What is irrational? Well, the opposite of irrational is rational, and that means to be sensible, wise and believing things through logic and reason.

Irrational beliefs are things people believe often quiet strongly, despite evidence, facts and proof which is generally available and well understood.

Irrational beliefs come from reading or hearing misleading information, and not checking to see if it is true. It could come from posts and memes on things like Twitter and Facebook or other places.

Always make your own mind up about something you see, hear or read, by checking with people, books and sites you can trust.
